Who is William?
William hails from Canada and has been teaching and teacher training in English as a Foreign Language learning contexts continuously since 1995 in Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Mexico, China, Malaysia, Oman and Vietnam, making a total of 27 countries he has visited and worked in.
Prior to retraining and embarking on this career, he was the Managing Director of four marketing oriented companies for 12 years with offices in the United States and Canada... work which took him to many regions of the US and overseas countries including Russia, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands and others.
His first career was 10 years in the Performing Arts, first as Administrative Director of Windsor Theatre at Mount Allison University. He was accepted into York University's Masters of Performance Program in 1976 but a twist of fate had the Program cancelled at the very last minute and so he did another undergraduate degree in Drama Studies. He went on to work for well-known companies like the NDWT Co. (of Black Donnelly fame with writer James Reaney), Pierre Cardin's Les Tréteau de Paris and the Canada Council before founding and coordinating for three years the first undergraduate Arts Management Program in Canada at Confederation College in Thunder Bay, Ontario, a cooperative program that took him the length and breadth of Canada over the three years he was its coordinator. He married in 1983 and spent the next 10 years based in Orlando, Florida. After concluding 2 contracts of the largest shipment of poultry meat to Russia after the fall of the Berlin Wall, he returned to Canada to embark on his formal teaching career in EFL.
